Utilizing Archives in the Classroom

Does your course relate to archives in a special way, or are you interested in learning more about how the University Archives can support your course learning outcomes? Let the University Archives come to you!

Library staff expose students and the community to the University Archives in many ways, including:

  1. Orientation tours
  2. General library tours
  3. Social media posts (Flashback Friday)
  4. Special event displays
  5. Class visits

We are always looking to include more courses in our archives class instruction. Previous topics covered in class visits include:

  1. Evaluating primary resources
  2. Researching archives
  3. Using archive materials in research projects

Please contact Brigitte Galauner if you are interested in scheduling an archives class visit! You can also check out our "Accessing Archives" Canvas pages for resources and activities that can be implemented into courses. We also have an accompanying page located here that contains recordings of previous archive workshop sessions.
