1. Enter search keywords by placing different concepts into the text entry boxes.
You can also use the "Look up Subject" feature located to the right of the text entry box for "Subject Heading (All)" under the Search options displayed below the search boxes. Clicking the "Look up Subject" link will bring up another search box where you can search for education and then select a narrower subset of dissertations to either browse (without keywords) or to limit your search (with keywords).
3. Browse through list of citations. Use the sort (default is relevance) and narrowing options on the right to manipulate your results as necessary.
Clicking on the hyperlinked title of a dissertation in ProQuest Theses & Dissertations search results will bring up a small (24 page) preview, which normally includes the Table of Contents, Abstract, and Introduction of the dissertation.
Many dissertations published in the last ten years can be found in the library institutional repositories/digital archives of the conferring university. Most dissertations written by Ohio students in the last ten years can be found in the OhioLINK Electronic Theses & Dissertation Center.
You can often find the full-text of dissertations from other states by searching for the dissertation title using Google.
A print copy of a dissertation from another state *may* be available via Interlibrary Loan if the full-text is not available. However, some institutions will not lend their print dissertations. Contact the library for assistance.
