Learn more about primary sources and how to find for your paper.

Using the Catalogs

In addition to the news collections listed in the previous tab, use the UF or OhioLINK catalogs (see below) to search for other primary sources:

  • Diaries
  • Collected letters and correspondence
  • Government documents
  • Films
  • Audio recordings

Try using these keyword search terms and phrases:

  • (letters OR "collected letters" OR "collection of letters") AND [enter author or artist name]
  • (notes OR "collected notes") AND [enter author or artist name]
  • (diary OR diaries) AND [enter author or artist name]

For government documents, films, and audio recordings, simply search by title or essential keywords.

For the example government document listed below (call number I 19.4/2:1203), we searched the UF catalog using the phrase "Lake Erie watershed."
