London Scholars: Developing a Topic

Find out how the library can help you on your adventure to London!

The London Experience

When choosing a topic, think about this line from your syllabus: "pick a topic...that entails being physically in London to complete." What can you research or experience in London that you can't anywhere else?

Questions For You

When you think you have a good research topic, ask yourself these questions:

  1. Do I find this topic/issue interesting enough to focus on it for the next few months?
  2. Can I research this topic using library resources?
  3. What type of information will I need to support this research topic?
  4. Is the scope of the information I need for this topic a reasonable amount?
  5. Given the type and scope of information I need, is this topic too broad, too narrow, or just right?
  6. What sources will have the information I need to research this topic?
  7. Do I have access to these sources now, or when I am in London?
